Photo Friday: Windowpane Guitarist

Windowpane is a hard rock band from Seattle who opened up for Queensryche when they were here in Denver (well, they're opening for Queensryche on their whole tour I believe).  I hadn't processed any of my photos from that September shoot until last night, and found this one of Tony Abreu, the Windowpane guitarist that I thought looked cool in b&w.  I used Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 for the processing.

Photo Friday: Death Angel

I shot Death Angel, Testament, Anthrax a few weeks ago. While I didn't end up staying for Anthrax (which turned out to be the correct decision based on the fact the crowd was rowdy and the photographers had to leave the pit), I hadn't looked at my Death Angel photos until today.  There is something to be said for not only being close, but having a good enough camera to shoot at ISO 6400.

Photo Friday: Lake Granby

To those enjoying the Friday Showcase, I apologize for slacking on it lately.  I actually forgot this week to get somebody for it, and I realized that last night.  Never fear, I'll have somebody for next Friday, but in the meantime, I bring you another edition of Photo Friday!

I love Lake Granby (or Granby Lake, depending on what you feel like saying).  There's a lot of various places on it you can stop and park, and normally people don't bother going to "our spot."  In the summer not only can we take the dogs there, but Peter really enjoyed splashing in the water when it was warm.

This past weekend we were up there, and while it was in the 30's at night, during the day it was in the mid 60's. The water was freezing, but the dogs didn't care, and Peter enjoying digging in the sand on the beach.

I saw this view right before we were heading out, and really loved the shadow of the cloud on the mountainside, so couldn't resist a snap.

Photo Friday: The Penguin Poses

I love going to the Denver Zoo, and not just with my family. I love going by myself as well since it's a great place to practice wildlife and animal photography.  I will say, without a doubt, that the easiest animals to photograph at the zoo, are the penguins.  Every single time I go there, regardless of the time of year, some of them are just standing there posing.  It's almost like they want to be photographed.
