Arenacross - jumps, whoops, crashes, and fun

Since I started shooting sports more seriously, I've come to realize that motocross of any type is one of my favorite things to shoot.  Racing is cool.  Jumps are cool.  Extreme jumps are way cool.  Crashes aren't cool, but can be interesting to see.  So when I saw Arenacross was coming to Denver, I had to get in on that.

Pro events can be overrated

NHL.  MLB.  NFL.  Each of these hold a level of prestige since those are professional sports organizations.  We "ooh" and "aah" over how cool we perceive these athletes to be (well, some people do at least). There are many photographers who think they've "made it" when they get to shoot a professional event.

Always Bring Your Credential Approval

We live in a technology age where everything is done via email, social media, and other technological means.  Our email archives are chock full because we can easily search (well, if you use anything other than MacOS X Lion Mail, but that's a different story) to find what we're looking for.

When HDR Makes a Difference

The "I hate HDR" vs the "I love HDR" argument is one that's never going to be won. It's like when I say I can't stand those bokeh photos that look like something blurry.  Some people are going to like it, some people are going to hate it.

Live Your Dash - Live Your Passion

I'm taking a little different tone with today's blog post.  Readers of this site will notice I haven't posted since January 2nd, which is odd for me.  I was called away on a sad note.  A friend of mine whom I've known since I was five, had her husband unexpectedly pass away from a sudden heart attack, so I flew to be with her and her family.  Besides the usual sad, I'm honestly not sure how to put words to my emotions in a situation like this.

Favorite Photo of 2011 and Project 365 for New Year

Everybody I know is doing one of those year-end retrospective posts, and I probably could do the same, but I'm just not that into that.  Instead of doing that, I'll just share my absolute favorite photo that I took in 2011.

Drumroll please..

Here it is!
